ABOUT US

Siblings Care was born from lived experience.

In 2016 my younger brother Jason sustained a C4/5 spinal cord injury at 20 years of age after a snowboarding accident in Canada. From the moment he left hospital, it became clear that to stay socially connected and engaged in life, he needed young, like-minded support workers who understood the importance of independence, lifestyle, community and rehabilitation.

Through this journey, we gained extensive lived experience and insight into what truly makes a difference in the lives of young people with SCIs. This led to the creation of Siblings Care, a service built on real-world experience, community connection and a genuine understanding of the day-to-day realities of life after injury.

We have established strong relationships with SCI-focused organisations on the Gold Coast and in Northern NSW, including Making Strides, private physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and occupational therapists.

Our clients are connected to rehabilitation services, hydrotherapy, adaptive sports (such as wheelchair rugby), and broader community activities. We also provide guidance with the NDIS, ensuring participants are linked to the right providers to support their goals.

We know first hand the impact that a SCI can have on families and young people in particular and provide unique training to all of our staff so you can experience a level of care that is unique and tailored to you.
