This Privacy Policy describes how Siblings Care ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information through the Siblings Care mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information through the App:
• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and role (support worker or manager).
• Shift information: Shift dates, times, locations, support types, and notes recorded during shifts.
• Participant information: NDIS participant details including name, NDIS number, date of birth, address, support needs, goals, and risk assessments. This information is entered by authorised staff only.
• Compliance documents: Worker compliance document details such as document type, expiry dates, and file references (e.g. NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid certificates).
• Incident reports: Details of incidents reported during service delivery.
• Policy acknowledgements: Records of when staff have read and acknowledged organisational policies and procedures.
• Device information: Push notification tokens to send you shift and compliance reminders.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
• Manage and coordinate NDIS support shifts
• Maintain accurate participant records in line with NDIS Practice Standards
• Track worker compliance and document expiry
• Generate timesheets and support reports
• Record and manage incidents as required by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
• Ensure staff have read and acknowledged organisational policies
• Send push notifications for shift reminders and compliance alerts
4. How We Store Your Information
All data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with servers located in Australia. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to participant and worker data is restricted to authorised Siblings Care staff only.
5. Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:
• Within Siblings Care: Authorised managers and support workers access only the information they need to deliver services.
• NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission: If required by law or as part of our obligations as a registered NDIS provider.
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database) and Expo (app infrastructure) to operate the App. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and do not use your data for any other purpose.
6. Participant Privacy
Participant information is treated with the highest level of confidentiality. Only authorised Siblings Care staff directly involved in a participant's support have access to their records. All staff are required to complete privacy training and acknowledge our Privacy Policy before accessing the App.
7. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal obligations)
• Complain about a breach of your privacy

8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as required to deliver NDIS services and meet our legal obligations. Shift notes, incident reports, and participant records are retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with NDIS record-keeping requirements.
9. Push Notifications
The App may send push notifications for shift reminders, compliance alerts, and policy updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify staff of any significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
